Stephen Thompson suggests who he should fight next

Thompson recently sent out a tweet, My friends, my bad! I meant to say I wouldn’t be surprised if they made the Leon vs Masvidal fight  I have no idea what the UFC is planning to do. As of now it’s still Leon vs Usman.

Thompson referred to his quotes in a previous interview which brought the audience’s attention. Wonderboy said, “Right now I’m on a six-month medical suspension because of my hand. But there’s a few names thrown at me, like Jorge Masvidal obviously, and Michel Pereira was also thrown at me. I am still going for the title. I know there’s going to be some heavy wrestlers. The guys ranked above me right now are just heavy wrestlers.”

This claim by Thompson is encouraging for Jorge Masvidal, as he could be facing Leon Edwards in the title match. But the fight is contingent on former champion Kamaru Usman‘s clearance.

He then added, “I don’t know if I want to fight somebody in March and they are looking at Jorge Masvidal. You know he is a standup fighter which kinda inspires me a little bit because our division is heavy with wrestlers.”
