Conor McGregor acknowledging Nate Diaz is indeed a shock to many MMA fans. The two fighters haven’t always had a good rapport with one another but McGregor showing Diaz respect really surprised the fans. Hinting at a potential rematch, ‘The Notorious’ also talked about the boxing match of Dillon Danis and Logan Paul which is scheduled for the 14th of October. And he finally gets candid about him and Diaz.

A reporter recently managed to ask McGregor about Nate Diaz. Diaz fought a rather bloody and grizzly match against McGregor back in 2016, and now it looks like a fight between him and McGregor may be off the card for the near foreseeable future but the Irishman sure wants something to happen.

Conor McGregor has quite recently missed the time to enter a USADA testing pool. This sort of sidelined him from fighting again this year after he took a break because of his broken shin. During the round of questions he maintained that Diaz’s last fight against Jake Paul was “nothing.”  While it’s not known when the fighter will battle again, McGregor sure wants his next fight to be in a cage.

“I’d like to see him back in MMA,” said McGregor. “I owe him a fight. I owe Nate a fight. So I gotta obligate that you know? In (our) rematch I got the better of him and I owe him the trilogy for sure.”

The last time McGregor and Diaz went inside a cage, ‘The Notorious’ came out victorious. It was quite an entertaining fight that went on for all five rounds with Diaz’s face bloodied. Yet, the fighter was still ready to go at it. McGregor ended up winning via decision after the final round was over. While fans love to see their favorite trash-talking Irishman win, this wasn’t their first brawl in the Octagon

What happened when Diaz and McGregor clashed the first time?

Their first fight that started it all was back in 2016 at UFC 196. This was when Nate Diaz forced McGregor to tap out via submission. The fight ended in two rounds and Diaz emerged the better of the two. Things didn’t go quite well for him the next time around.

Now, McGregor has called for a trilogy. But is that really going to happen? The last time we saw Diaz was when he was being boxed around by influencer-turned-boxer Jake Paul. It may not have been the proudest moment of his career but the fighter withstood the blows. Now, fans wonder when they’ll see Diaz in action again and if he’ll be in a ring or a cage.
