Jon Jones continues to stand head and shoulders above any other fighter in proving just how good he really is, and his recent performance against former 2-time heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic stands as evidence. Despite his dominance, however, there is a legion of fans who act as his detractors and have called his dominance in question, especially for his refusal to fight Tom Aspinall. Recently, a fan tried to dish Jones with an insult but was in for a rude awakening when the heavyweight champion clapped back.

Jon Jones is an active social media user, and much like Conor Mcgregor, he’s not afraid to speak his mind either. Although his tweets hardly resemble the ones that the Irishman posts, ‘Bones’ never shies away from a confrontation, and that is exactly how he approached a fan whose comment read, “Crazy how fast Jon Jones killed off his fanbase and ruined his reputation,” on Instagram.

To refute the fan’s claim, ‘Bones’ laid down the statistics of how well his UFC 309 headliner did from the financial point of view while adding a laughing emoji to his response. Moreover, he pointed out the fact that Donald Trump and Elon Musk, two of the most popular figures in the world, attended the PPV at Madison Square Garden to witness his return. “Yeah, I ruined my reputation, yet Madison Square Garden was absolutely sold out,” Jon Jones responded. “Literally had the president and Elon Musk sitting ringside. Don’t talk about having fans when you don’t have any.”

Prior to his fight at UFC 309, Jon Jones made his stance clear about fans who don’t necessarily have any love for him – haters, to be exact. However, he appears to enjoy proving them wrong time and again.

Jon Jones talks about MMA fans who are rooting for him to lose against Tom Aspinall

As we all know, Jon Jones defeated Stipe Miocic in a pretty comprehensive manner. But ‘Bones’ claims to be aware of what people have to say about him on social media, and in his opinion, they want him to suffer his first clean defeat. That is the reason they’re relentlessly calling for a fight against the interim champion, Tom Aspinall. However, he claims to enjoy being in such a position because he knows he’s got the ball in his court.

“A lot of people really want to see me lose. They really want to see me lose. To see me walk away with all the chips just irks people inside,” Jon Jones stated prior to his UFC 309 clash. “I am glad to be in this position to walk away with all the chips.” Well, that’s a bold response to his haters, but he’s got the MO to prove himself right every single time he steps inside the Octagon.

Jon Jones has been jibed at by the fans recently because they feel he’s ‘ducking’ Tom Aspinall. However, the undisputed champion is not opposed to fighting the Briton as long as the UFC pays him “f*** you money”. Until then, however, the most anticipated heavyweight fight in recent memory will just remain a distant dream for fans. What do you reckon? Do you think we’ll see Jones face off against Aspinall anytime soon in 2025? Let us know your thoughts in the comments down below.
