In a recent video shared on his Instagram, ‘The Last Stylebender’ shared an interesting story behind why he doesn’t own a Ferrari. According to Adesanya, he had tried to buy one in Auckland, New Zealand but was unable to do so. Let’s take a look at what happened!

Israel Adesanya reveals why he bought a McLaren instead of a Ferrari 

Israel Adesanya and his love for cars is evident as the fighter regularly shares videos and pictures of him enjoying himself driving expensive vehicles. According to Adesanya, he first purchased his prized possession, a McLaren 720S Spider decked in orange as a reference to his favorite anime, ‘Naruto’. And recently, Adesanya also shared an update with his fans where he had his car transformed with graphics themed as iconic characters from the show.

However, in a recent post on his Instagram story, Adesanya revealed that he originally wanted to buy a Ferrari instead! He stated, “Speaking of Ferrari… Legit, this happened to me at Ferrari in NewMarket Auckland lol… so I went and got a McLaren!!”

The caption was a reference to a video he shared where a man is unable to buy a car as the dealers think that he cannot afford it. However, the man reveals that he is a multi-millionaire instead who can pay in cash! The video ends with one dealer telling the other who had denied the man to, “not judge a book by its cover”

The fighter’s post humorously addressed the stereotype of judging wealth based on appearance, emphasizing the importance of not underestimating others. Adesanya also shared that, “… I still want a Ferrari though”, indicating that he is still interested in adding the brand to his already impressive collection!

The fighter’s engagement with fans, coupled with his enthusiasm for automobiles, adds a personal touch to his larger-than-life persona in and out of the octagon. ‘The Last Stylebender’ recently also revealed what he thinks about the Nigeria vs. Brazil matchup in the UFC and promised the rise of more Nigerian UFC champions in the future!

Israel Adesanya recently made his thoughts known on Nigerian fighters in the UFC. Adesanya was a part of the ‘3 Kings’ era of MMA when 3 African fighters held UFC titles, with 2 of them, Adesanya and Kamaru Usman, being of Nigerian origin. 

A recent tweet by a fan highlighted the occasions in the UFC where Nigerian fighters went up against Brazilians inside the Octagon. According to the post, the record stands at 8-3 with the Nigerians coming out on top.

As such, Adesanya responded to the post by stating, “I will tell you this, when Nigerians start to flood the UFC with what Kamaru and I have inspired… it’s GAME OVER!!”
