Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz’s UFC 244 bout was almost about to get canceled. When the fight was officially announced, it was a big deal. After all, two great fighters with lengthy MMA careers were going to be in the octagon together. However, because Diaz’s USADA tests didn’t come clean, there was a chance that the contest could have been called off.

For Masvidal, this was a period of stress and confusion and people were asking him his thoughts on the bout running a risk of being called off. This happened just about eight days prior to the fight for which the promotion had even designed the special BMF belt.

All this led Masvidal to take to stress-eating. As per ‘Mel Magazine‘, the stress from this was enough for ‘Gamebred’ to forget his diet. Instead, the fighter ordered food on UberEats and binged on them. According to the website, the fighter had ordered two pizzas, a side of fries, and a large soda. Within an hour, all the food was gone.

Speaking about what he felt when he heard about Diaz’s USADA tests, Masvidal said, “A little bit of anxiety came. Not anxiety in the sense I thought Nate was a cheater, because I never thought he was a cheater. Just the uncertainty, like, They might pull my fight because of some lab screw-up? Because of some weird-a** bulls**t.

Masvidal also explained that his coaching team later deleted UberEats from his phone and also took away his credit cards. “When I get anxiety or depression and things like that, I take to eating.”

It was later found out that Diaz had taken a tainted supplement and hence the fight went on as planned.
