“I Taught the Shots, and the Shots Were…”: Conor McGregor Rates “Dear Friend” Jake Gyllenhaal’s MMA Moves in Movie “Road House” During UFC Bout

Although Conor McGregor stayed out of the Octagon in 2021, he didn’t stop striving to make his presence known to the world. ‘The Notorious’ and the Hollywood star, Jake Gyllenhaal, began the shoot for the remake of the classic movie, ‘Roadhouse’. Undeniably, with a debut in Hollywood, McGregor took over the headlines in the sporting community. However, the movie incorporates a scene where Gyllenhaal fights inside the octagon. The filming of the scene took place during the UFC 285. As expected, the actor fighting in the cage exploded through the internet.

Recently, in a conversation with Robbie Fox, ‘Mystic Mac’ shared some facts about Gyllenhaal’s fighting skills. Although he declared that the shots were good, he thought they weren’t technical enough. However, the fighter indeed enjoyed working with the Hollywood sensation.

In the recent episode of ‘My Mom’s Basement’, Fox and McGregor talked about a lot of stuff. However, Gyllenhaal’s appearance at UFC 285 didn’t slip away from the conversation. Fox asked the Irish fighter about his opinion on his co-star’s UFC bout. 

‘The Notorious’ claimed that he taught the shots to Gyllenhaal. However, he did not want it to be completely technical. The Dubliner said, “Took over the internet, yeah. But he, I taught the shots, and the shots were pretty good… All we wanted was the shots, not like technically mixed martial arts, I didn’t want that.”

Furthermore, the former UFC double champion opined that Gyllenhaal was, in fact, a great guy. Nevertheless, the fighter had nothing but good words for his Hollywood debut movie. He’s a great, great guy. He was very patient with me, and I was very patient with him. We understood about our skill set and what we brought to the table. And a dear friend of mine now, Jake Gyllenhaal, is. We doing, we doing a great movie… I’m doing the best I could with what I had at my disposal,” said McGregor.

During the events of UFC 285, with the hype for Jon Jones versus Ciryl Gane, Gyllenhaal made an appearance to film a scene for the ‘Roadhouse’ remake. Without a doubt, the footage of the actor’s fight scene exploded on the internet.

Doubtlessly, McGregor’s debut movie is one of the most awaited movies in the world of mixed martial arts. Additionally, Gyllenhaal’s appearance at the arena was simply a boost in the excitement levels for MMA fans.
