

Recently, surging bantamweight contender Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience. There, the duo spoke about several things and went to great length to discuss the current state of the bantamweight division. It is arguably one of the toughest weight categories in the promotion right now, as it is filled to the brim with impressive talent.

One of the conversation pieces saw the duo discuss the possibility of Marlon ‘Magic’ Moraes fighting at 145. The Magic man is currently on a 3 fight losing skid and last competed in September. Despite possessing all the tools and skills to become the champion, something is not working out for ‘Magic.’
The duo believes Marlon would be a great fit for the 145 division, as his massive built will help him to restart his career in a new weight class.

Joe has stated on multiple occasions that the magic man is cutting too much weight. He walks around at over 160 and has a massive built. Rogan stated, “I think he cuts too much weight.”
Despite just being 5 ft 1 inch tall, he can still compete in the featherweight category. Chito also suggested that he can have a much better time competing at his natural weight, as he already possesses all the tools that make him a dangerous fighter.

He can strike at an elite level and has fantastic kicks that even knocked out the reigning champion Aljamain Sterling. The duo looked back at all the fights that Marlon has competed in and the losses that he has collected. In his recent outings, he did not seem like his usual self, and in the fight against Rob Font, things just went horribly wrong.

Joe feels that Moraes is carrying too much weight for the 135-pound division. He needs to figure out a way to cut the excess weight out, as he is already carrying too many muscles. Everything can factor into his performance and it might allow him to have improved cardio. Historically, Moraes has struggled to come back into the fight, when things aren’t going his way, and it is something he must figure out.
