However, this matchup created a great deal of buzz even before the fight day. The two engaged in quite some back-and-forth trash-talking and backstage altercation, something GSP had been rarely seen doing throughout his career. Bisping didn’t miss out on an opportunity to stir up a moment that irked the Canadian fighter.

Things went a little overboard when ‘The Count’ initiated an altercation with St-Pierre in a parking lot, which made it to the headlines.

Georges St-Pierre spills beans on the Michael Bisping altercation

Georges St-Pierre made a statement during a recent interview with ‘Full Send Podcast’, saying that he has personal issues with some guys and there are some guys he has fought but he has no grudge against them. However, he knows that he couldn’t really be friends with them due to compatibility issues. He also mentioned that he is cool with some guys, specifically mentioning Michael Bisping.

Regarding the Englishman, St-Pierre acknowledged that one of the best things he did leading up to their fight was with promotional activities. St-Pierre also complimented ‘The Count’, saying he’s a clever guy for what he did with their infamous parking lot brawl.

Talking about the incident, the 41-year-old stated, “We were in Toronto, and after one of the press conferences, we went back to the parking lot to our cars and our cars were in different locations, but to go to the parking lot we had to go through the same spot.

He further added, “So when we went to the parking lot after the press conference; I think he saw that TMZ was there, so he walked back to me in the parking lot, and he went face to face with me and said, ‘Aye, keep your F hands on you because next time you do that I’m gonna smash you.’ I’m like, ‘What? F you. Keep your hands [off], you touch me first. So don’t touch me if you don’t want me to touch you.‘”

GSP then went on to talk about the aftermath of the brawl and said, “It wasn’t staged, it’s real… But that was very smart, because that went viral. It went crazy.”
