Khamzat Chimaev is all set to enter the octagon! His upcoming bout against another UFC prospect, Paulo Costa, is surely on pins and needles in the current scenario. In a middleweight contest with a crack at the title shot, Chimaev is expected to take on Paulo Costa, who is ranked seventh in the middleweight division. With the bout’s simmering anticipation among the fans, another name has popped into the picture.

Well, it was none other than UFC welterweight bigwig Belal Muhammad who verbalized his thoughts on the upcoming bout. In a YouTube interview, Muhammad broke out what could be a potential obstacle for Chimaev when he battles it out against Costa.

Belal Muhammad warns Khamzat Chimaev about a challenging aspect

While speaking to renowned sports journalist Helen Yee on her YouTube channel, Belal Muhammad laid it all out for the most anticipated return of Khamzat Chimaev. He straightaway cut to the chase regarding his upcoming bout against Costa. Yee initiated the conversation as she asked the welterweight about his thoughts on the bout.

Muhammad, on the other hand, wasted no time as he dived deep into the contest. He said, “I mean, I was excited for that one too. That was the fight I wanted to fight. Just because of the buildup right? Both the guys talk trash. They are going to get back and forth with each other. Um, I think it comes down to how much wrestling will play a factor. If Khamzat, you know he was taking down guys at 170, he was going double leg and picking him up.”

He further added, “You are not going to pick up a guy like Costa like a little guy because we have only seen him going against smaller guys. Costa is going to be bigger than Khamzat. And I think it will be mostly on the feet and I think it is going to be a banger”.

It’s evident from the video how Khabib Nurmagomedov’s former teammate considers Costa’s size as the biggest threat for Chimaev. In his remarks, he expressed interest in how wrestling will contribute and notably mentioned ‘Borz’s’ takedown abilities. However, he also stated that taking down ‘The Eraser’ can be an uphill climb for Chimaev. Considering Muhammed’s statement, it was not the first time when Chimaev got warned.

Another warning for Khamzat Chimaev from the past

There has indeed been a long-running feud between the two UFC competitors. The beef is getting intense slowly and gradually. But did you know? Costa once conveyed a bold wake-up call to Chimaev. To alert Khamzat Chimaev, Paulo Costa used his Twitter account. He captioned the post by twitting, “Haha loll look at this. Gourmet Chen Chen me and u knows I’m going to Abu Dhabi To expose you badly and u know that. You got scared since I meet u in UFC PI, @jakeshieldsajj was there too. See u soon, little insecure weirdo.” 

Chimaev, in the opinion of Paulo Costa, is terrified of him. He mentioned the handle of UFC legend Jake Shields, who witnessed the entire anecdote. Costa believed that he has all it takes to expose Chimaev in their upcoming bout. Well, this was not the end of their spat, as Chimaev blasted another salvo amidst the beef.
