The UFC Hall of Famer Georges St-Pierre revealed the name of his favorite boxer in a recent interview.

GSP is one of the most prominent names in mixed martial arts sports. He is also one of the greatest fighters to grace the UFC octagon. During his time in the promotion, ‘Rush’ held titles in two divisions.
The Canadian competed and won against some of the best fighters in UFC. However, he retired from professional fighting after his last victory at UFC 217 in 2017. However, the former UFC double champion is frequently in the headlines or does several media appearances for having achieved greatness in the sport.

Recently, GSP appeared in an episode of Lex Fridman’s podcast with martial arts coach, John Danaher, and submission grappler, Gordon Ryan, where they talked about trash talk in MMA.
At a point during the conversation, GSP said, “I believe also emotions can be used as a weapon. For example, I have learned this from my favorite boxer, Sugar Ray Leonard. Sugar Ray Leonard I remember I was very young.”

He added, “so I watched his fight later when I was older. But I know that Sugar Ray Leonard was the best boxer of his era to me personally. And I think nobody could beat him. I think he was skill-wise, he was the best.”

Later, ‘Rush’ explained how fighters use emotions to derail their opponents out of their game plan. And how his opponents in the UFC used the same strategy to get into his mind. However, GSP turned every odd to become one of the greatest of all time.

Georges St-Pierre said he would fight Francis Ngannou in the street than Bas Rutten
The UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, is one of the most vicious strikers in the division. He has destroyed many of his opponents in the first round of the fight. No human would want to face this Cameroonian in the streets.

However, GSP in an interview with Lex Fridman, claimed he prefers fighting Francis Ngannou than Bas Rutten in a street fight. ‘Rush’, while explaining surviving techniques to Fridman, said, “In a street fight, I would rather fight Francis Ngannou than fight with Bas Rutten in a street fight.”
