However, a scuffle broke out between newly transitioned Flyweight Cody Garbrandt and Bantamweight Fighter Sean O’Malley, who will spearhead the main card against their respective opponents.
After a heated argument, the pair left their respective seats and headed towards each other. Later, security stepped in to separate the two.
After their scuffle, a reporter asked “No Love” for his opinion on “Sugar” declaring himself the unranked champion of the Bantamweight division.
To which Garbrandt advised the Irishman to focus on his opponent, Raulian Paiva. He said “I just laugh. I think it’s comical. I think this guy’s a joke, but like I said, I’m not facing him and he’s got Raulian. So, That’s who he should be focusing on. But hey, you know what, he’s got the hype, he’s growing up the hype, he’s got the fans behind him, so he’s got to go out there and prove to himself. He’s unproven. So, At the end of the night, he’s still unproven. He’s still has a lot to prove in this sport.”
This verbal spat turned scuffle resulted from months of banter on Twitter and possibly other social media platforms.
The two are now in completely distinct divisions and not scheduled to fight each other anytime soon. Although the fight could prove to be a hit as their rivalry resonated among their fans as well.
