Jon Jones has already cemented his legacy as one of the all-time greats of mixed martial arts. The 35-year-old holds several records in the UFC, including that of being the youngest champion in the promotion’s history. Jones will look to make history again when he faces Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 on March 4.

Jones’ rivalry with Daniel Cormier is a crucial chapter in his legacy. The pair had one of the most violent rivalries in the history of the UFC. They fought twice and Jones came out on top both times.

Now, as ‘Bones’ prepares to grace the octagon after being away for three years, he has a friendly message for his biggest rival.

Quite recently, Cormier shut down a fan who asked him not to commentate Jones’ UFC 285 bout for fear of biased commentary. While several fans have accused Cormier of bias before, Jones does not seem too concerned about him commentating on his fight. In fact, he even welcomes it.

In a recent tweet, he wrote, “DC you are more than welcome to commentate at my fight, I think you are really good at what you do. I trust that you would be non-biased. All the best brother.”

Considering how heated their rivalry was, this message from Jones may be surprising to many. In another tweet, Jones even expressed his willingness to squash the past rivalry.

A whole new Jones

While interacting with Jones on Twitter, one fan asked him to let Cormier interview him in the octagon after the fight. The two-time UFC light heavyweight champion responded he was open to the idea.
