Israel Adesanya is slowly turning into one of the best fighters on the UFC roster. Ever since he landed in the UFC, Adesanya has fought his way to the top, giving fans the proof that he deserves to be the best in the division. However, as Adesanya gears up to grab his second UFC gold, fellow UFC middleweight Uriah Hall believes the divisional champ has been choosing who he faces inside the Octagon.

During an appearance on MMA Fighting’s What the Heck, Hall seemed emotionally invested in a potential fight with Israel Adesanya. However, that is not because of hatred towards the Nigerian-born Kiwi. Hall, in some ways, can relate to the fighter that Adesanya is. Hence, he wants to test himself against the best in the business.

I know this is just gonna get me in trouble; I think this dude’s just picking fights, man,” Hall said (via MMA Fighting). “He’s picking fights, and maybe he has that leverage. But maybe [I think that way] because I want to fight him so bad. I really want to fight him.

Uriah Hall feels the game is running out of dynamic fighters like him.

Hall was scheduled to fight former UFC middleweight champion, Chris Weidman at the co-main event of UFC 258. However, a COVID-19 positive test for Weidman has led to the UFC postponing the fight. Consequently, Hall will have to wait a little longer to avenge his first pro-MMA loss which came in 2010 against Weidman.

The 36-year-old Hall made waves in the UFC with his highlight-reel knockouts in the seventeenth installment of The Ultimate Fighter. While ‘Prime Time’ hasn’t been able to sustain that level, he still feels he has a rare fluidity in his game.

The last time I wanted to fight someone so bad was Josh Samman on The Ultimate Fighter,” Hall said.

I want to fight him so bad because I get him. There’s not a lot of dynamic people left, and for those who are dynamic and not winning, they’re trying to be flashy. [I’m talking about] that dynamic with fluidity. I have that fluidity. It’s coming out. I lost it for a while because I was in La La Land but man, I’m putting my s**t together,” he added.

Hall blasts the UFC ranking system and the media members responsible for the same

Hall last stepped inside the Octagon when he knocked out Anderson Silva in the latter’s last UFC fight. The win improved his record to four wins in the past five fights. As Hall slowly gains the momentum he had coming out of TUF, he still has a lot of mountains to climb to get a fight with Adesanya.

The fighter out of Fortis MMA is currently ranked eighth in the UFC middleweight division. However, Hall doesn’t pay heed to the same. He considers it to be just a number handed out by people who have never experienced what it’s like to step inside the Octagon.

Good god, I want to fight this f***er so bad,” Hall explained. “But with the politics, the media, it’s like someone saying, ‘Well, you’re not worthy.’ Or, it’s the ranking system: ‘We here think you’re number eight. We feel that you’re number eight. We’ve never competed before, but we think you’re number eight.’ Get the f**k out of here. Who comes up with this ranking system? It’s a joke. So you’re gonna tell me what number I am?”

Currently, Hall isn’t looking past his next opponent in the former All-American Chris Weidman. However, he plans for fireworks if and when he fights Adesanya.

If you thought the Anderson fight was cool, wait until you see this s**t. It’s just a matter of time.
