UFC commentator and podcaster Joe Rogan faced a similar situation when he met celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain. He discussed his encounter with the renowned chef in a recent podcast episode.

The million-dollar ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast has seen guests from different walks of life appear on the show for some exciting conversations. It is the largest audio platform in the world, with an average of 11 million listeners per episode. American novelist Mark Greaney joined Joe Rogan in the #1942 episode of the show as the 55-year-old podcaster recalled his encounter with Anthony Bourdain.

Joe Rogan recalls meeting Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain is famous for his TV shows like ‘Anthony Bourdain: Explore Parts Unknown’, ‘The Layover with Anthony Bourdain’, and Joe Rogan’s favorite, ‘Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations’. The 55-year-old podcaster claims that he was ‘weirded out’ after meeting the famous chef. Rogan said, “One of the people that I have met, that I was like really weirded out, was Anthony Bourdain.” He added, “I used to love that show, ‘No Reservations’ and I used to watch it religiously.”

Whenever Joe Rogan put on Bourdain’s show, his wife would make a funny remark. “My wife was like ‘oh, you’re watching your boyfriend’. She’s always joking around,” said the 55-year-old. Moreover, Joe Rogan got to meet Anthony Bourdain, but it was a little awkward for Rogan’s liking. He said, “I meet him [Bourdain] and I’m star-struck, right? And I say ‘My wife says you’re my boyfriend”

This hilarious comment left the late celebrity chef confused. However, Bourdain and Rogan became good friends later. “I eventually became good friends with him and it was cool, it was nice,” said Joe Rogan.

Joe Rogan claimed it wasn’t easy to get over the fact that the guy whom he admired was now a good friend. He also stated that famous people are “weird.” However, he understands that beneath all the fame and notoriety, they are just normal human beings. Rogan believes that weird things happen to people who become famous. However, the UFC commentator and famous podcaster have become a recognizable face himself.
