Dana White fiercely criticize referee Steve Mazzagatti, labeling him “The worst referee in the history of fighting.”
The UFC president, Dana White, often gets into disagreements with the fighters. Being the autocrat of the promotion, the 53-year-old does not always get along well with the UFC fighters. When a matchup is made, the first thing the UFC boss focuses on is profit. Years later, former UFC fighter Tim Sylvia opened up about how Dana White’s thirst for money made him lose a great opportunity. Sylvia’s fighting career flourished while he was in the UFC from 2002 to 2008.
The former UFC two-time heavyweight champion mentioned how the promotion offered him a fight against Daniel Cormier after he achieved a winning streak. However, their fight never came to fruition as Dana White changed his mind. The 47-year-old felt that the UFC boss betrayed him after giving him great hopes. Nonetheless, he also added that they guaranteed him two more fights regardless of the outcome of his fight against DC. However, none of this became a reality.

Dana White destroyed the hopes of Tim Sylvia
‘The Maine-iac’ was talking in an interview with Submission Radio. During the conversation, he detailed the harsh treatment he received from the world’s biggest MMA promotion. He said, “They wanted us back after I put a big winning streak together. Whatever, they bought out Strikeforce. They got me a fight. They asked me to fight DC, and we said yes and then they guaranteed two more fights. Won or lose with the DC fight in the UFC because that was gonna be his last fight… more than the last fight and Strikeforce all together and we greatly agree to it. It was a pretty good contract… We signed it, we sent it off, and they never sent it back and Monty asked Sean Shelby what’s going to his contract. He’s like, ‘Yeah, Dana changed his mind.'”

Later, he went on to explain how the incident destroyed him completely. He added, “They took it away. That’s when I got really, really vocal and I was really pi*sed off. That was probably the biggest, the biggest crushing moment of my career. I’ve not done because you know it’s just like there was at that time, there was so many great fights for me in the UFC and I didn’t hear if I ever fought for the world title ever again that wasn’t my goal. My goal was to go into UFC and put on shows to the fans.” The 47-year-old felt that the UFC boss had crushed his career. He shattered all his dreams in no time.

Even after being a two-time UFC heavyweight champion, he could not get a fight against Daniel Cormier. Sylvia began his fighting career in 2001. That was a time when MMA was not that popular around the world. His professional debut was at the IFC. From then on, he achieved a thirteen-fight winning streak. The Maine-iac’s UFC debut was against Wesley Correira at UFC 39. He won the bout via TKO in the second round. Now, as a retired fighter, Sylvia feels that the promotion betrayed him at one point.
