“You know it’s unfortunate people don’t understand that. It’s like, I was yeah, It’s.. It’s sad but I wish everybody can get a liver shot just so it’s a pain that people who might have got punched in the stomach think, oh come on! Come! You know suck it up! Right, no, it’s not the same thing.”

This statement comes in the context of the recent loss of Ryan Garcia against Gervonta Davis. The 24-year-old boxer lost the bout after getting a liver short from ‘Tank’, losing his undefeated record. Following this, the American has been the target of critics who think he could have continued after eating the powerful punch. Addressing this, White explained how hard the punch could be on a fighter’s body. He further stated that it’s beyond anyone’s capability to continue, regardless of their mental toughness.

The ‘Blood and Bone’ actor further discussed the trash-talking that went done before the Garcia-Davis boxing match. Both fighters put their purse on the line if they lost. However, when Garcia failed the bout, many brought up the bet between the boxers. Michael Jai White felt “there’s no honor anymore” in the sport because Garcia was already suffering. He felt there was no further need to berate him.
