Israel Adesanya was recently in conversation with Submission Radio and opened up about all things MMA. Chiefly, Adesanya dove deep into another middleweight fighter who has been compared to Izzy.
Anderson Silva has been featuring on headlines after he declared his retirement from the UFC. ‘The Spider’ headlined a Fight Night card going toe-to-toe against Uriah Hall on October 31, 2020.
Hall went on to TKO Silva in the fourth round, forcing Anderson to hang his gloves up and ride off into the sunset with a loss in his hands.

“If you can, you can. It’s not up to people, the crowds to tell him what to do. I mean, he’s his own man, he makes his own choices. He looked good last night. Uriah found his confidence and was able to catch him with the chaos he created.”
The general consensus is that Silva should consider walking away from combat as he’s pushing the age of 46. Moreover, the UFC President went so far as to say that he shouldn’t have let Silva compete against Uriah Hall at all.
Adesanya, however, felt that ‘The Spider’ was more than capable of making his own career choices.

“But yeah, who’re you to tell Anderson Silva when to retire. He’ll know when to retire. I just hope it’s not too late. He knows his own body, he knows how he feels so he’ll retire when he wants to and if that’s his last fight, I’ll be glad.

“You know that’s dope. I felt like I would have been a good last fight for him to see himself out too but yeah, that’s how the cookie crumbles.”
Although Anderson has looked competitive in all his recent fights, there is no doubt that age is catching up to him. What’s more, he was winning the fight against Uriah Hall; however, his declining speed, evasiveness, and durability cost him dearly.
