It is quite common to see MMA fighters beef with each other. After all, it is a very competitive sport. However, UFC fighter Conor McGregor has previously taken digs at someone unexpected. Back in 2016, he and WWE superstar Chris Jericho got into a Twitter back and forth.
McGregor competed in UFC’s featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight. He has had great success in his professional MMA career. Further, he has also tried his hands at boxing. Whereas Jericho is a famous wrestler and has achieved great heights in the sport. He appears regularly at WrestleMania and SummerSlam.

Since their respective sports are distinct from each other, them getting into an online argument was a surprise. Their back and forth commenced after the UFC star took a dig at WWE. He said, “I didn’t mean no disrespect to the @wwe fans. What I mean to say was that I’d slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sunday’s.”
Sorry pal no disrespect to u, but my fights are legit, unlike the fixed fights u have in @UFC. I’ll embarrass u. https://t.co/X5WCyeHYbf

Jericho understandably wasn’t happy with this. The six-time WWE world champion hit back, stating that McGregor’s fights were fake. He wrote, “Sorry pal no disrespect to u, but my fights are legit, unlike the fixed fights u have in @UFC. I’ll embarrass u.”
Their tweets generated tons of excitement with fans wondering whether an epic crossover was possible. However, McGregor is not a wrestler and Jericho has never competed in MMA. But their tweets were entertaining for fans.

Interestingly, Jericho isn’t the only wrestler he offended. Roman Reigns too took a dig at ‘The Notorious’ for his tweet.

However, many believe that he might fight for the lightweight title. The division is stacked with some of the best fighters who want a shot at the belt. So if McGregor gets the title fight against Charles Oliveira, then fighters like Justin Gaethje and Islam Makhachev would not be happy.
