UFC Kansas City brought with itself a controversial moment in the main card. The opening fight of the main card saw Clay Guida take on Rafa Garcia. Guida lost the fight via a unanimous decision. After the fight, the 41-year-old removed his gloves as the fighters do when announcing their retirement only to wish his mother her birth anniversary which was not received well by Dana White.

He admonished the fighter for his fake retirement antics during a live PPV show. The fans thrash the UFC President for being angry with Guida. This thrashing comes after the fans lashed out at Daniel Cormier for taking Guida off the mic in the middle of the interview.
Fans thrash Dana White for commenting on Clay Guida after UFC Kansas City
The comments of the UFC President did not sit well with the fans as they lash out at the UFC President in a post by MMA Fighting. A fan commented, “That somebody is his mom. Whats happening to Dana? Getting so worked up about everything”.

Another one added, “I mean get it but is it really something to be that upset about? I mean he was wishing his mom a happy birthday cmon”.
Similarly, a social media user said, “I mean playing devils advocate though these guys make peanuts going in there and getting beat to a pulp you can’t give someone a couple minutes to say what they want ? Seems a little unreasonable”.
Furthermore, a fan thrashed White, “If Conor or Colby did that… he’d be like ‘haha isnt he f*cking awesome? I’m giving him the next title shot'”.
An Instagram user said, “nd then DC cutting him off like we’re at the Oscar’s was pretty cringe”.
Fans also reminded the contribution of Clay Guida to the UFC, “Man, Guida spills that much blood for your organization and you’re mad because he said Happy Birthday to his mom?”
However, a fan sided with the UFC President, “Nah I’m with Dana on this one. LOVE clay but win the fight. Earn your mic time”.
Lastly, a fan joked, “Would’ve been gold if he faked the retirement just to do one of his patented loud af burps, then dropped the mic.”

The UFC President answered questions regarding the Fight Night that happened at Kansas City. White gave his opinion on what he thought of Guida’s tactics after his fight at UFC Kansas City
Dana White said in the interview, “That pissed me off actually, to be honest with you. No, that pissed me off. I like him, he’s a nice guy, but you’re faking your retirement so you can say f*****g happy birthday to somebody? We’re running a live event here, you know what I mean?”
