Kamaru Usman has given his stance on a potential move up to the middleweight division. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ is willing to accept a bout against Israel Adesanya, but he would require the UFC to break the bank.

On The Jim Rome Show, the UFC’s top pound-for-pound fighter, said, “Well, like I have said, if Dana is willing to sit us down and say 100 million dollars, hey, guys, let’s split this up. At that point, me and Israel have to talk because at that point me and my little brother. My blood brother. We would have to talk and say, hey, let’s go out here and let’s make this money.”

Kamaru Usman has frequently stated he will not challenge ‘The Last Stylebender’ as long as his fellow Nigerian is at the top of the middleweight division. Realistically, the UFC and Dana White will not offer such an outrageous sum for any fight despite the fact that both champions have fared reasonably well on PPV.

Kamaru Usman wanted to fight the only fighter to beat Israel Adesanya
Although ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ will not move up to middleweight, he had intentions of becoming a two-weight champion. Usman had claimed that he wanted to fight then UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz before he lost the title to Glover Teixeira at UFC 267.

The light heavyweight division (particularly Jiri Prochazka) seemed displeased with Usman over his remarks. The UFC welterweight champion clarified he can’t run through the light heavyweight division, but he liked the stylistic matchup against the Polish champion.
