Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most dominant fighters in UFC history. Many consider the Dagestani to be the greatest fighter of all time. Nurmagomedov is a former UFC lightweight champion. In his entire career, Khabib has never lost a professional fight.

The fighter once stood first in the UFC’s men’s pound for pound rankings. During his run at the UFC, the fighter dominated many of the promotion’s greatest fighters. Khabib has victories over Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier, and Conor McGregor.

However, the UFC president and head honcho, Dana White, doesn’t consider Khabib to be the greatest of all time. In a recent interview with the legendary boxing trainer and analyst, Teddy Atlas, White talked about the same.

Atlas asked White about who is his favorite fighter of all time. To that, White answered, “Chuck Liddell and Ronda Rousey are two people who really helped build this business, you know, super loyal.

He added, “I think Khabib Nurmagomedov probably could be called the greatest ever, who knows. If he’d stuck around longer…It was unfortunate, the passing of his father.”

Khabib announced his retirement from professional fighting after the sad demise of his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. His father was his trainer and mentor throughout his life. He often attributes all his success to his father.

Khabib is not the only fighter that Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov has trained. He mentored numerous Dagestani fighters, including Islam Makhachev and Zubaira Tukhugov.

After his father’s death, White tried to convince Nurmagomedov to return to the UFC. However, Khabib stood by his word. Khabib is now, like his father, a trainer for Islam Makhachev and other Dagestani fighters.
