“If I Get My A** Whooped, I Want to Come Back Right Away”- Nick Diaz Says He Will Not Give Up After UFC 266

The Stockton native Nick Diaz has not entered the octagon since his last bout against Anderson Silva at UFC 183 in January 2015. However, now he will return to the octagon against Robbie Lawler in a five-round non-title bout on the 25th of September. This intriguing rematch will serve as the UFC’s second non-title non-main event five-round fight.
Ahead of his return, the concern is that he may retire if he loses. However, Diaz gave his take on fighting after his upcoming bout. He said, “Definitely want to do this more often, especially if I get my a** whooped. If I get my a** whooped, I want to come back right away.”

Diaz will keep fighting in the promotion if he faces a defeat against Lawler. However, only time will tell whose hand gets raised inside the octagon.
While the MMA community would love to see Diaz inside the octagon, the fan-favorite doesn’t enjoy fighting.
Nick Diaz doesn’t enjoy fighting
Nick Diaz, one of the prominent names in the sport, has always brought the fans to their feet with his performances. The Stockton native has an impressive MMA record of 26-9 with 21 finishes under his name.
However, during a recent interview, the fan-favorite shocked everyone with his comments. While expressing his dislike towards fighting, Diaz said, “I never enjoyed fighting. It’s just something that I do… It just is, it is. All the people around me and all the money and the sponsors and all that.”

Diaz, who looked very calm and honest in the interview, also claimed that he didn’t want to regret not fighting. He wasn’t interested in fighting after his last match and was away from any promotion. However, now he is back and will take on ‘Ruthless’ inside the cage at UFC 266.
