Kayla Harrison is a well-known American Judoka and MMA fighter. At the 2012 Olympics, she became the first American to win a Gold Medal in Judo since 1999. Currently, she is a part of the PFL since 2018 and has a fantastic fight record of 11 wins and 0 losses. She is also the present PFL lightweight champion. The undefeated fighter has free agency and hence seems to be interested in fighting under UFC as well. However, Dana White feels differently about this.
UFC President Dana White says that she is still not ready for UFC. Speaking about Harrison with TSN, he said, “They pay her an obscene amount of money to fight over there. If I was her, I would stay right where she is and keep picking off the people over here. When you come here, you know. Amanda Nunes is no joke. (Valentina) Shevchenko is no joke… These are the best female fighters in the world.”

White added, “I would stay there and keep fighting the type of women she is fighting there before I would come here and fight Amanda Nunes.” Dana felt that Kayla should gain more experience before making the shift to UFC which would see her face tougher opponents.

Kayla Harrison responds to Dana White
Harrison and Nunes are teammates at the American Top Team. She was quick to respond to White’s comments and advice about her future. She said, “Thanks for the advice, Uncle Dana, I appreciate you.”
White’s comments did not bother her and, in fact, it seems like she was expecting it from him. She said, “I’m gonna talk about how I’m the greatest of all time, and he’s gonna talk about, ‘Well, calm down. No, you’re not.’ This is a game. This is a business. The difference is I really am gonna be the greatest of all time. He’s gonna see.”

It will be interesting to see if Harrison fights for UFC after this. The 31-year-old fighter wants to concentrate on her upcoming bout against Taylor Guardado at the 2021 PFL World Championship. The event is on October 27. Harrison will become the champion for the second time if she wins this final fight.
