‘Do Bronx’ is one of the greatest MMA fighters who has been with the UFC for a long time now. And like any other fighter, even the Brazilian lightweight has had ups and downs in his career.
Talking about one such incident from the past, Oliveira revealed how one of the biggest promotions in the world saved his life. In one episode of a Brazilian podcast, Mais Que 8 Minutos, Oliveira said, “When I fought Max Holloway and has that issue in my neck, I spent three days admitted in the hospital. Dude, they spent USD 50,000. I hit my head and lost movement on my left side.”
“Actually, I was admitted for two days. When it was time to pay, I saw they spent USD 50,000. If it was in Brazil, I would die! That would never happen in there. It’s a whole another story. The more you level up and get to the top, the better it gets,” Oliveira concluded.

In 2015, ‘Do Bronx’ faced Max Holloway, where he suffered a shoulder injury after a failed takedown attempt during the fight. Following that, referee Herb Dean stopped the fight in the first round, handing Holloway a T/KO win.
However, as revealed by Oliveira, the UFC took care of his injury and the hospital bills after the incident.
Will Charles Oliveira fight for the lightweight title again
