Khabib Nurmagomedov is a household name now with anything related to wrestling. The Dagestani fighter received highly traditional training and was raised in a very regimented milieu, which gave him the discipline and warrior-like outlook necessary for a fighter. And it is precisely what he wants to impart to the students he takes under his wing.

It’s public knowledge that Nurmagomedov’s training camp is not for the timid. Everyone on “Team Khabib” proves to be an absolute beast in the UFC, after all. That doesn’t happen the “easy way”. Additionally, there are a number of rules that all students at Khabib‘s gym must abide by. Even in the slightest details, like a haircut. Yes, there is a haircut code that the students must adhere to. If they don’t, they risk punishment. That’s what a recent video that appeared online demonstrates and it seems to have transported the fans back in time.

Fans praise the old-school discipline

The instructor in this clip can be seen punishing the students with a smack of a stick for not following the gym’s haircut rule. And that, essentially, has what struck the chord with the fans. The students there are supposed to have very short hair, just like Khabib.

Many fans applauded the old-fashioned way of disciplining the students wherein others put out some hilarious comments under the video.

Many viewers praised the gym for continuing to discipline the students in a traditional manner:

“Based on how soft that caning was I assume its less about physical pain and more about the mental and emotional shame”

“Exactly how you would imagine a wrestlers gym to be, gets ass smacked with stick”

“Nice! Old fashion discipline – I like it.”

And then, there were some amusing remarks on it, too:

Reminds me of: (Let me tell you something) Let me tell you something….!!!!!!!!”

Lmao they made me check my hair

There was a Paddy Pimblett mention for obvious reasons:

“If Paddy ever visits this gym, he is a dead man.”

It impressed one of the fans, who wanted to enroll his son there:

“Can’t wait for my son to grow up and put him in khabib’s camp, inshAllah”

Won’t work in the US, says a fan:

“Imagine the lawsuits if this happened in the US, it would have costed millions, lasted years, the kids sent to counselling and the gym shut down.”

There is the conventional way of training and then there is Khabib‘s way. And the latter is just not everyone’s cup of tea.

Khabib has his own way of training

Khabib stands tall with an undefeated record in the UFC and topped the pound-for-pound ranking when he retired. And all of that is attributed to his disciplined upbringing and laser-like focus on honing his skills. And to learn from “The Eagle” himself, you must have a lot of fortitude. Because “Coach Khabib” doesn’t speak any syllable of ‘ease’ when he’s training.

An old video shows “The Eagle” guiding the young students at his gym. And anyone who is unable to withstand the intensity of his training is then given some counselling. “Someone tired, they may go home… cry too”, says Khabib. He may speak less, but his message is delivered clearly whenever he does.
