He said, “Listen, the heavyweight fight wasn’t a fight you’re gonna be talking about for years. It wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. I thought it was going to be a lot more stand-up. But it was a brilliant game plan by Francis, to do what he did, the way that he did it. And I don’t know, I’m hoping that will be one of the big fights this year. So, if we can pull this off, we definitely will.”

“Jon? I don’t even know. I mean, a while back we sent some texts back-and-forth. But I’m not the one who talks to Jon on a regular basis. The matchmakers talk. They talk to the fighters,” he added.

The UFC 270 main event did not impress Jon Jones

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will fight in the heavyweight division. The MMA legend announced this move in 2020 after he vacated the 205 lbs belt and revealed he would take time to gain muscle for his new weight class.

Bones‘, who was looking at his potential future opponents do battle at UFC 270, didn’t like what he saw. He took to Twitter to share his thoughts about the main event. In one of the tweets wrote, “If this is the Apex of heavyweight fighting, I’m excited about it. Got some more records to break.”

He also took a shot at Gane.

As ‘Bon Gamin’ was undefeated heading into the fight, many thought he would be a tough matchup for the champion. However, Ngannou showed he lacked the grappling skills, and Jones also didn’t hold back. He said, “I love how everyone gets so impressed with the new guy lol.”

It’s obvious that Jones can’t wait to get back in the octagon. Fans want to see him fight again as well, and a bout against ‘The Predator’ will be huge. They are two of the most popular fighters in the world and it will be an interesting matchup.
