Ever since his first title loss in the UFC, the English fighter Darren Till has faced a rough phase in his career. Even though ‘The Gorilla’ moved his division, he could only win once.

Following the title loss, Till faced the same fate in his next fight in the welterweight division. After moving to middleweight, he lost two of his three fights.

However, the Brit is not quitting yet. Even though he is fresh from his recent loss against Derek Brunson, ‘The Gorilla’ desires to get back inside the cage and has a name too.

The 28-year-old appeared in an episode of Michael Bisping’s podcast ‘Believe you me,’ where he talked about his next move. Till said, “The UFC, they said to me, ‘Darren, we’re with you.”

“We know what your potential is. We really love you, you’re always there for us, you’ll fight anyone anytime. You’re a man of the company,’ and I said, of course. But they’re like, ‘Who do you want to fight?’ and I said Jared Cannonier is a good one. ‘Oh really? Jared already?’ Of course.”

“There were a few options they threw out to me. One fight I really liked was Sean Strickland. They offered him as well, and I actually said to Sean because I’ve seen him a few times at the UFC I said, ‘Sean, if you want to get it on at some point, let’s do it because I think you’re a good fighter, I think it would be a good fight.’ So listen, I’m still fighting the top and that’s how it is. Hopefully, a good solid card there, main event. I think that’s gonna be a good card. That’s what it’s looking like, but we’ll see,” he concluded.

Will Darren Till Find Success Against Sean Strickland

‘The Gorilla’, with an 18-4 professional fighting record, is one of the most famous fighters in the UFC. He made his debut in 2015 with a stunning win. However, after a draw in his second bout, Till went on to win four fights in a row.

Unfortunately, after a two-fight skid, the Brit moved his division to the middleweight, but could only secure one win against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244. Even though he faced two setbacks in the division, it came against the opponents who are ranked among the top-10 on the roster.

Now, in the quest to find his way back to the win column, Till desires to fight the #7 Sean Strickland. Akin to the Brit, the latter has also moved his division from welterweight to middleweight.

Interestingly, ‘Tarzan’ is in a good form and has won four straight fights in the division. Considering his recent run, it won’t be a walk in the park for ‘The Gorilla’ to face Strickland. Hence, it is difficult to say if the Brit will outclass the American fighter. However, one can only say for sure after the combatants clash inside the cage.

Did Till make the right decision to call out Strickland? What are your thoughts on the fight? Let us know in the comments below.
