Ilia Topuria shocked the MMA world with his performance at the UFC 298. Many believed the 27-year-old to be the favorite, and he lived up to the expectation. The hard-hitting Spaniard defeated Alexander Volkanovski in round two via knockout. The Aussie superstar failed to defend his title this time around after doing it five times previously.

Topuria surprised everyone after calling out Conor McGregor for a fight after his victory. He even showed his interest in fighting him at his pre-fight press conference at UFC 298. While the call-out has gathered a lot of interest lately, UFC insider Michael Bisping feels this fight might never happen.

Ilia Topuria not only made the headlines with his performance inside the Octagon but also grabbed attention for his post-fight interview. The 27-year-old Spaniard took the opportunity to call out one of the biggest names in the UFC, Conor McGregor. “El Matador” has always been vocal about him wanting to fight ” The Notorious” One and his press conference before UFC 298 is a testament of that. McGregor is one of those rare fighters who is a two-division champion and is never afraid of a challenge. However former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping feels the fight might never happen.

During a recent episode on his YouTube channel, the 44-year-old said: “Okay fair enough and he’s probably got a point. I don’t think he’ll ever fight McGregor. I don’t he’ll ever fight Canelo Alvarez. But you gotta set your stall high. I mean Ilia Topuria is gonna be a massive star . I didn’t see you put it in the notes the video of the homecoming that he got in Spain right.”

While Bisping feels Topuria might never face McGregor in his career. There is one fight which will surely happen and it’s the much-awaited rematch. Alexander Volkanovski is desperate to get back in the ring with Topuria to win his belt back. However former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has the same advice for him like Michael Bisping.

After dropping the former champion to the floor Topuria took the opportunity to call the UFC to Spain. UFC CEO Dana White seemed quite impressed by the idea and wants to line up a fight at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. With the possibility of the event happening later this year, ‘ The Great’ is all excited for his rematch. The Aussie superstar is the greatest flyweight champion and deserves a title shot on the first place. However he has received some words of advice from former flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson.

In a recent YouTube video on his channel Johnson shared some words of wisdom for the former champion. He said:  “If they do a rematch, all Ilia has to do is touch him. He has to run away from Ilia Topuria for 25 minutes. … I truly feel like Ilia Topuria is a bad matchup for Alex Volkanovski because he doesn’t get frustrated.” He also showed his concern regarding the back to back knockout losses for the 35-year-old.
