Ilia Topuria has promised to show the world what he’s made of by winning the featherweight title. ‘El Matador’ is relatively new to the UFC. While he has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, his time in the promotion didn’t start until 2020. So, it’s only natural that he wants to prove his mettle to everyone, and what better way to do it than defeating Alexander Volkanovski!

Topuria has never lost in his entire career. He is currently 14-o-0 and has shown great confidence in his ability to take down ‘The Great’, yet another fighter who hasn’t lost a single featherweight bout since earning the title in 2019. Perhaps, Topuria’s whole image has a lot to do with his confidence. This, of course, includes his walkout song. So what song does he usually walk out to?

Ilia Topuria’s walkout in Jacksonville

At a UFC Fight Night event in Jacksonville, Ilia Topuria headlined the main event against long-time UFC fighter, Josh Emmett. Here, Topuria walked out to Shouse’s ‘Love Tonight’. The song can be rather electrifying and frankly goes with Topuria’s confident presence inside the arena.

‘El Matador’ showed a similar presence inside the cage as Emmett tried his best to withstand the blows that Topuria sent his way. It was a rather dominant performance from the German-born Georgian who made it a spectacle of boxing inside the cage.

The main event was certainly worth all the hype because it went the distance. Both the fighters went on for the whole five rounds exchanging severe blows to the face. By round five, Emmett’s face was bruised and covered in blood. He missed a few punches in round 4 and was staggered enough to fall to the mat after his swings.

However, it didn’t end there, he managed to withstand the ground and pound that Topuria followed up with, and in the fifth round, Emmett was leading the fight. However, by now, he had lost enough points for him to lose via a unanimous decision in Topuria’s favor. Now, Ilia Topuria sets out to fight ‘The Great’ himself.

What will he walk out to next?

Topuria has switched up his songs before. For instance, at UFC London when he tore down Jai Herbert, ‘El Matador’ walked out to “Una Palabra” by Anuel AA. He has also used “Froteamos Porque Podemos” by De La Ghetto before, at UFC 264. His new song? There’s no way to tell. Given his love for his adopted country, Spain, he could walk out to a Spanish artist’s song.

Most likely something in the electric genre just like the last song by Shouse who specializes in the genre. He will need all the hype he can muster if he’s going up against Alexander Volkanovski who has now been the featherweight champion for over 1500 days. And he’s not looking to end his reign anytime soon.

Do you believe Topuria could be the one to dethrone Volkanovski? Let us know in the comment sections what you think about the UFC 298 bout.
