However, he has also teased a return to the former weight class, citing a fight against the current champion Jan Blachowicz. Is Jon Jones a proper heavyweight now?

As his social media banter with ‘Izzy’ goes ahead, Jones posted about his heavyweight move, in of those tweets. Per Jones, fighting the UFC heavyweight contenders is a whole different story. Since he has always been a light heavyweight, he doesn’t see himself coming down, if he puts on a proper heavyweight shape.

However, he didn’t forget to mock Adesanya for restricting himself in the middleweight unit. Jones wrote, “I’ll never be able to make light heavyweight again gaining this weight properly.. what’s your excuse for not moving up 20 pounds, Eugene?”

While the entire social media feud appeared to be hideous, ‘Bones’ also had some valid things to state. In response to Adesanya’s photoshopped tweet, Jones labeled it to be “childish”.

Given his longevity in the sport, it is no surprise that Jones has beaten more world champions than Adesanya. Thus, the former light heavyweight champion has nothing more to prove. In response to Izzy’s post, Jones vowed that he would pick apart the middleweight champion when they face-off in real life.

“There will be no memes as I factually just pick him apart. I’m crushing this man,” wrote Jon Jones.
