The UFC lightweight division is boiling with some of the best MMA fighters aspiring for the title. Although Charles Oliveira has managed to defend his title against Dustin Poirier, he will not have a dearth of challengers. Fighters like Conor McGregor, Justin Gaethje, Islam Makhachev, and Tony Ferguson have their eyes on the belt.

‘El Cucuy’, who is on a three-fight skid, had an impressive 12-fight win streak ahead of UFC 249. He lost to Justin Gaethje and then went down to ‘Do Bronx’ (UFC 256) and Beneil Dariush at UFC 262.

However, he is eager to return with a bang. On Instagram, the fighter posted a picture of himself with a caption that read, “Feeling All Charged Up It’s On I’m Comin’ After You 2022- Champ.”

Ferguson reigned as the division’s interim champion after defeating Kevin Lee at UFC 216. However, the UFC stripped him off the belt because of inactivity. Nonetheless, the fighter came back to defeat Anthony Pettis and Donald Cerrone.

Sadly, after such great fights, Ferguson hit a rough patch in his career with three consecutive losses. The 25-6-0 record holder is now ready to return and grab the title. However, he will have to work his way up the rankings with impressive wins.

Likewise, a bout against Nate Diaz would be great to watch. As they have had a beef on social media, the prospect of seeing them finish it off in the octagon would be a great crowd puller.
