Conor McGregor is slated to make a comeback at the UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. Their fight has been on the cards for months but Dana White finally announced it after UFC 300. There’s been an animosity between McGregor and Chandler which is yet to be settled. ‘Iron’ might be more active in the Octagon than McGregor but it must be noted that one should not underestimate the man who broke Jose Aldo’s ten-year undefeated record.

Conor McGregor holds one of the fastest records for knockout in the UFC. He knocked out Jose Aldo in just 30 seconds to clinch the featherweight belt. However, the fight materialized a decade ago and there’s a difference between the new McGregor and the old McGregor. There’s been a tincture of doubt whether can be the same after his broken shin but according to John Kavanagh, ‘Notorious’ was never better.

While having a conversation with the ‘MMAFighting’, the Coach dropped some heavy words for McGregor against Chandler. He stated that Mcgregor is looking sharp and sleek which will help him against Chandler.“His technique is as sharp as ever. I’d be surprised if the Michael Chandler fight can go to two rounds. He hits too hard, he’s too sharp. Is there going to be scrappiness and a few takedowns and stuffs? Maybe, but every round starts on the feet, and his ability to get back there is underestimated.”

The coach got some high praise for the former dual-weight champion! Nonetheless, McGregor shared this statement by his coach on his Instagram handle and added a caption that said, “I’m cutting people open truth but in a zen way.” ‘Mystic Mac’ likes to play with his opponents way ahead of their fight and this might be one of his techniques to break the morale of the former Bellator star.

It must be noted that one should not underestimate McGregor as it would act as a hazard for the opponents. Their clash is announced to happen at 170 pounds but according to Daniel Cormier, they should fight at a newer division.

Daniel Cormier wants Chandler and McGregor to clash in the super lightweight division

The UFC administration has been talking about adding two new divisions to the promotions but there’s been no development from any of the leakers as of now. Nonetheless, giving a piece of further information on this topic, Daniel Cormier has come forward to state that it would be better for the UFC and the fighters[Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler] if they fight in the ‘165’ lbs division.

Shedding more light on the topic, Cormier added, “I believe that if they’re going to do a 165-pound division, it should have a name attached to the weight class that is so big that it draws people’s attention. Conor McGregor being that name. Michael Chandler, on the other hand, will benefit from being in the right place at the right time, where these guys would then fight for the super lightweight championship of the world, because that’s what I believe it is. Because it’s only 10 pounds heavier than 155, so let’s call it the super lightweight division.”

A new division within the promotion could serve as a fresh catalyst for growth for Dana White and his team. However, as of now, nothing concrete has been implemented. What are your thoughts on Cormier’s statement? State your thoughts in the comments below.
