Belal Muhammad will fight Leon Edwards on March 13th at the UFC Apex. Muhammad is currently on a four-fight winning streak and will probably face the toughest challenge of his career against Edwards. ‘Rocky’ was originally scheduled to fight Khamzat Chimaev, but ‘Borz’ had to withdraw due to his coronavirus issues.
The UFC needed a replacement fighter as Edwards wanted to end his lengthy spell of inactivity, which kicked off in 2019. ‘Remember The Name’ who beat Dhiego Lima at UFC 258 stepped up. Now, he will feature in the main event against one of the top contenders at 170 pounds.
Many believe this will be an easy night for Edwards, as he will get the win. But Muhammad believes that is far from the case. He recently appeared on the ‘Believe You Me’ Podcast. Here, the 32-year-old fighter credited Edwards for his skill sets but believes he will better his opponent.

“You’re not gonna have a chance to breathe with me. I’m gonna be in your face 5 freaking rounds, 25 minutes. You’re gonna think back to ‘Man, it was so good quarantined at home where I didn’t get punched in the face,‘” said Muhammad.
It’s true Muhammad has been much more active than Edwards lately, and that can certainly prove to be a deciding factor in the upcoming fight. ‘Remember The Name’ certainly has supreme conditioning and that can prove to be a problem for ‘Rocky’. However, Edwards is not someone known to get fatigued during a fight.

Can Belal Muhammad give Leon Edwards a stern test?
This is in fact a very tricky match-up in the welterweight division, as Edwards, who is on an eight-fight win streak, is looking to get back to title contention with a win in this high-risk bout from a rankings perspective.
His opponent, Muhammad, has only dropped 2 of his last 10 fights. Only Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal have bettered him only since his promotional debut against Alan Jouban.

Muhammad has very good conditioning, and so has ‘Rocky’. But Edwards’ striking game is a bit more effective than one might assume. ‘Remember The Name’s’ activity will help him against Edwards, who will probably be a tad rusty.
