Fans were left astonished by the dramatic physical transformation of Gordon Ryan following an extended period of hospitalization. Ryan recently disclosed that he had been hospitalized due to multiple health issues. Upon returning from a trip to Abu Dhabi, the renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor was diagnosed with severe strep throat. Initially, doctors hoped that antibiotics would alleviate his condition, but unfortunately, the symptoms worsened over time. Consequently, Ryan had to undergo tonsillectomy surgery before finally being discharged. However, the disease has affected Ryan’s health so badly. Through social media, ‘The King’ has always given health updates to his fans. After posting the body transformation photo, Ryan has once again given an update about his health.

With a remarkable record of five ADCC World Championship titles, two IBJJF No-Gi World Championship titles, and four Eddie Bravo Invitational Championship titles, many had anticipated Ryan’s continued success in the sport. However, his unexpected illness took a toll on his journey.

Ryan has been offering insight into the challenging ordeal he has been enduring. Recently, he took to Instagram to share a story in which he posted a photo of himself. Along with the photo, he wrote, “I’m half dead and still look better than most of you pro athletes.Even after facing dangerous health issues, Ryan is still confident about coming back and proving his strength. Upon his return home, the highly accomplished BJJ black belt shared a photograph on Instagram, revealing his visibly depleted physique. Under the image, he gave a detailed explanation of what he was going through.

He wrote, “Everyone posts their best. Be confident enough to post your worst. This post is simply to update everyone on my current athletic status. I’m not asking for sympathy or help, and in fact, would prefer if you lose faith in me so I can prove you wrong like I always do.He also describes how his illness and treatment restrict him from training.

‘The King’ is confident about coming back

At the moment, he is advised not to take any training as it can only cause more harm to his body. Ryan further mentioned how antibiotics have saved and destroyed him simultaneously. The medicines helped him get out of danger, but they destroyed his physique completely.
