He was set to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303, but a last-minute withdrawal crushed those hopes. Since then, the trail has gone cold. Now, whispers have grown louder. Could this really be the end? Has the curtain fallen on Conor McGregor? Well, he has come forward to answer it.

Last week, ‘Mystic Mac’ visited the White House to address the Irish community in the United States, extending his wishes for a happy St. Patrick’s Day. Following his appearance, controversy emerged, prompting Conor McGregor to announce his intention to run for a seat in the Irish Parliament. This gesture by the former dual-weight champion forced the MMA fans to believe that McGregor might be done with his UFC career, and guess what? He chimed in the same tune when he was asked about this at the BKFC press conference.

When inqured about his return to the Octgaon, ‘The Notorious’ emphasized, “Greatness does not rush. There was an opportunity for a deal to fight in Alcatraz recently, and I think there was an event going on there in June. They came to me, but it wasn’t my worth. You know, as fighters, we have to know our worth. I hold every pay-per-view record in the book. I hold every gate record in the book. My comeback is slated as the greatest and most anticipated comeback of all time, so it has to be right.”

Well, McGregor is quite right in his statement. He has broken records that no one believed could be broken. As one of the richest MMA fighters in the world, he possesses enough charisma to draw people toward him. If we were to go by numbers, the former UFC champ has pulled in a massive 10 million PPV buys for all of his UFC fights. Quite a big number! So, when will he return to the Octagon?

This question is much more complicated than you think, however, McGregor has answered it, “I’ve got two fights on the contract, and I’m in negotiations. Last week, I went to the White House. My heart bleeds for my country right now, so there’s a lot going on back home. I’m happy with what I have done, you know. There’s something else in my gut right now. and that’s kind of the way I’m going.

“We’ll see.” That’s what Conor McGregor had to say about his Octagon return, and it’s quite understandable given his responsibilities as a promoter for BKFC and his new role as a politician. Interestingly, former champion Charles Oliveira has already pulled the curtain on McGregor.

Charles Oliveira doesn’t believe Conor McGregor will ever comeback

Last year, Conor McGregor announced his highly anticipated return to the UFC. Trusting him, Dana White also confirmed his matchup against Michael Chandler at UFC 303. However, as the fight date approached, ‘Mystic Mac’ withdrew, citing a toe injury. Following this, the UFC CEO emphasized that he would no longer announce McGregor’s fights until the Irishman was genuinely ready. Since then, there have been no rumors regarding his comeback. When asked bout Mystic Mac’s return to the Octagon, Charles Oliveira expressed that he doesn’t believe that he will ever come back.

“To be honest, I don’t know why people are still talking about Conor McGregor. He’s done everything he wanted to do in the sport and now he’s choosing to live his life the way he’s living it. We’ve been waiting for him to come back and Michael Chandler has been waiting for about two years and he hasn’t shown up. I think fans should forget about Conor McGregor coming back, he’s not going to fight again,”

Conor McGregor’s UFC return remains in the shadows, however, the former UFC champion has expressed his willingness to clash under the BKFC management as exhibition. Will he fight outside of UFC for his comeback fight? Well, we don’t know but one thing is certain, McGregor’s career is at its conclusion.
