To us, Joe Rogan is nothing short of a celebrity that we would all want to have a run-in with. But there are people that even Joe Rogan can be ‘starstruck’ by. The host of one of the most successful podcasts (The Joe Rogan Experience) would be a fanboy of one of the greatest movie directors of all time!

On many occasions, Rogan has professed his love for classics (movies) and when it comes to directing classics, there is no one better than Quentin Tarantino. The legendary director has rubbed shoulders with Rogan and on one of the latest episodes of the JRE, Rogan opens up on a particularly remarkable moment that he shared with the highly celebrated director, while in conversation with the newly-crowned UFC Bantamweight champ.

If you are a movie buff then you know exactly who Quentin Tarantino is. The legendary movie director has put out some timeless classics like Kill Bill, Django Unchained, Jackie Brown, Reservoir Dogs, and many more. Naturally, a man of culture like Joe Rogan will be a fan of the maestro.

In a recent JRE episode, Rogan sat down with the new Bantamweight champ in the UFC, Sean O’Malley. His coach Tim Welch also joined the two. While discussing a plethora of things, Rogan started talking about meeting certain celebrities or personalities that left him starstruck and fumbling for words. Then, Rogan mentioned Tarantino and recalled one particular encounter with him.

It’s just weird to be around certain… around certain iconic people. Like I had Quentin Tarantino in here I’m like… that’s Quentin Tarantino. That’s really Quentin Tarantino… you know?“, said Rogan with childlike enthusiasm. He then proceeded to describe a particular incident where Tarantino himself had attended Rogan’s comedy show. “I met him one other night. I met him at the Comedy Store one night. He actually saw me perform and came up to me and he was ‘Dude you f*****g killed! That was awesome!’. And I’m like holy s**t that’s Quentin Tarantino! That’s Quentin Tarantino.“.

A timeless classic by Tarantino that is loved by all is Pulp Fiction. It is arguably the most popular movie that Tarantino made. Joe Rogan had the opportunity to go see the movie in the theatres – and he did. He told O’Malley and Welch the story of how he was introduced to the greatness of Quentin Tarantino.

I remember being… just moving to LA and I was with this girl I dated and we went to see – at the Mann’s Chinese Theatre, we’d see Pulp Fiction. I remember sitting there with her and going what kind of f*****g movie is this! This movie’s so wild!“, remembered Joe Rogan. The way the UFC commentator spoke – there is no doubt that he is a fan of Tarantino’s work. But wait, this is not the first time the two have met. Apparently, Tarantino was a guest on Rogan’s podcast and the brazen director had a lot to say about a particular martial arts icon.

Quentin Tarantino’s movie ‘Once Upon A Time in Hollywood’ raised a few eyebrows. The controversy was surrounding how the director had chosen to portray the legendary character that was Bruce Lee. In the movie, Lee’s portrayal wasn’t as flattering as it generally is in other movies. Naturally, people who worship the legendary martial artist were perturbed by this. His movie became the center of a major Hollywood controversy.

In episode #1675, Tarantino openly expressed his dislike for Bruce Lee and explained that it stemmed from the way he treated the stuntmen. “Bruce had nothing but disrespect for stuntmen and he was always hitting them. He was always hitting them with his feet.”, Tarantino had said. He further added that stuntmen refused to work with him because Bruce Lee kept ‘tagging’ them with his feet (striking them with his feet).

The movie director had a lot more to say about Lee to supplement his point of view. It was evident that Tarantino didn’t share the same feelings toward Bruce Lee as millions of others did.
