Recently in an interview with Brendan Schaub on the episode Food Truck Diaries, Dillashaw opened about his ban period and said, “Last two years have been a blessing actually to tell you the truth. Just fact, I got to focus on my business. I got a three-and-a-half-year-old kid I got to spend a ton of time with. I get to have a real life. People don’t understand being in martial and UFC fighters like if you wanna be the best in the world have f**ing dedicated you are like it’s gonna absorb your entire life. So to be honest it’s kinda like a glimpse in what I can look forward to after fighting. I am actually looking forward to being done.”

He added, “I am coming back, I am getting my belt back, I got goals and sh* like that. But to be honest, life after the fighting is great if you do it the right way. Yeah, setting myself up being smart about it. If you keep fighting, you keep getting those paychecks. But I actually don’t have to fight for a paycheck now, which is nice. I am making more money outside the cage than I was getting paid when I was fighting. So it’s nice to not have that like going into the fight like you need to win, you gotta get to the next big fight. I gotta get that paycheck. Now it’s f***ing like I do it cuz I want to.”

Now the bantamweight clash will take place on 21 July 2021. Sandhagen is currently on a two-win streak. Meanwhile, Dillashaw fought his last bout two years ago against Henry Cejudo. However, the former champion faced a devastating loss in the first round of the bout via TKO.

It is an important match for the American fighter as he will look to make a great comeback after a long hiatus. A win in this match will surely put Dillashaw back in the title race. Hence, it will be interesting to see what he brings to the table after a two-year-long lay-off.
