“I’m Makin Twice as Much as the Majority of Most WWE Performers”- UFC Lightweight Clears the Air on the UFC Fighter Pay Comparison to WWE Superstars
The world’s biggest MMA promotion has always been under scrutiny for paying less to the fighters. On several occasions, critics have brought the issue to the forefront. At the moment, the matter has caught the attention of the media as UFC’s parent company, Endeavor, has acquired WWE for $9.3 billion. UFC has achieved great profits over the past decade, and at present, the promotion’s value is $12.1 billion. Nonetheless, it is only the promotion’s value that has shown tremendous growth; when it comes to the fighter’s payment, many aren’t happy with the conditions.
When asked about the same, the UFC president, Dana White, responded that the UFC is paying well when compared to other MMA promotions. Questions were even raised about whether UFC fighters are paid less than WWE stars. Recently, the UFC lightweight, Terrance McKinney, has come out in support of White’s words. He feels that UFC fighters are paid well in comparison to professional wrestling companies like WWE.

Terrance McKinney took to his Twitter handle to clear the air regarding the heated debate after coming across a meme from a Twitter user Ben Davis. McKinney tweeted, “If the average ufc fighter fights 3-4x a year they make more than the average wwe wrestler who performs twice a week travels and works out the whole year.“
After coming across McKinney’s tweet, an MMA fan said, “I’d love to know the current breakdown cuz I remember seeing a breakdown of WWE pay in like 2006 and most of the roster was getting around $150k+ I feel for guys who are on 10/10, 24/24, 48/48 etc even with 3 wins unless they’re getting bonuses likely less :/“

Terrance felt the query of the fan was relevant and he decided to reply, McKinney wrote, “I’ll tell you just from seeing my taxes I’m makin twice as much as the majority of most wwe performers I know and I ain’t even a star or had many fights. We could def get paid more but comparably we make pretty good especially with sponsors, endorsements, meet n greets etc.”

According to the UFC lightweight, the fighters are not underpaid when compared to WWE stars. Furthermore, the hard work put in by the UFC stars is also quite less than that of the WWE stars, as the number of appearances of a fighter is much lower in the UFC.
