It seems the sun never sets on Paige VanZant. The former UFC fighter has been transitioning between promotions as if they were mere stepping stones. After competing in the UFC, BKFC, Power Slap, and even participating in exhibition boxing matches under Misfits Boxing, ’12 Gauge’ now appears to be eyeing a move to Dana White’s newest rivals Global Fight League (GFL). The news might be interesting for the fighter herself but the fans might have another opinion on it.
The former UFC fighter announced that she has been signed with the Global Fighting League on her podcast, Paige and Austin: A Kickass Love Story. ’12 Gauge’ happily announced her inclusion to the highly anticipated inaugural draft on January 24, “They are picking up anybody and everybody who has a name in this sport that’s a free agent. They offered me a contract and I said yes.”
Paige VanZant is known for her high-intensity fighting style, however, despite that the fighter secured a meager 5-4 during his UFC tenure before she jumped into multiple promotions. The fighter will be returning to the MMA scene after her last loss against Amanda Ribas via first-round armbar back in July 2020. The former UFC fighter may have not competed in MMA for four years but she is eager to step back inside the Octagon.

Paige VanZant ripped apart by fans upon GFL announcement
If Paige VanZant competes under the banner of GFL, it would mark her fourth appearance across different promotions, starting with the UFC, followed by Power Slap, BKFC, and promotional boxing. Looking at this a social media user wrote, “That one person that keeps getting jobs.” Since 2020, Paige VanZant has won only once, and that too in the slapping league, Power Slap. If we were to talk about her endeavor under BKFC and Misfits boxing league then she suffered back-to-back losses and a draw, a fan highlighted that the fighter just jumps promotions to get beat up, “Bouncing from promotions just to get beat up.”
Global Fighting League has been pulling in talent from across the world but most of them are former UFC fighters who have been dropped by the promotion. Some of the big names that are about to fight under GFL are: Tyron Woodley, Cain Velasquez, Robelis Despaigne, Fabricio Werdum, and many more. However, despite the inclusion of such fighters, a social media user is not impressed by it, “If GFL gonna collect ppl like her…then im not interested”
