Khabib Nurmagomedov retired after defending his UFC lightweight gold for the third time against Justin Gaethje in October 2020. Following that fight, he has turned to other ventures and is roaming the world, making appearances at different events.
A massive soccer fan, Nurmagomedov recently visited Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play against Everton. This was Nurmagomedov’s first visit to the ‘Theatre of Dreams.’
However, during an interview in the stands prior to kick-off, the 33-year-old revealed he wasn’t a sole United fan. Nurmagomedov said, “I’m not like fan of Manchester United, I am gonna be honest. But I am fan of all football, you know. Like I remember when I grew up like. And with my father all the time watch match. And I remember it was like 1996 Euro here in England and watch a live first match.”

He added, “It was England versus Germany. That time England lose by penalty. And I watch the next match final Germany vs the Czech Republic. Yeah, the Czech Republic and after that, I watch all the world cup, European championship, all premier league, Spanish league, Italian league, and champions league and I follow everything.”
The retired UFC fighter has credited his father for his interest in football. However, this is not the only thing ‘The Eagle’ has credited his father for. Khabib’s father has trained him and his team throughout their career. Now, the former UFC lightweight champion has taken up the mantle.
