“I’m Not Too Much of a Believer in Chimaev”: Jorge Masvidal Favors “Tough as Hell” Welterweight Over Khamzat Chimaev

Jorge Masvidal has been in the game for a while now. The UFC welterweight has faced the highest and the lowest inside the octagon over an illustrious career. However, he hasn’t won a traditional UFC championship, the Miami-based fighter won a special BMF championship. Moreover, his 51-fight record in professional MMA makes him one of the veterans of the sport and certainly whose opinion must be valued.

‘Gamebred’ has come up with one such opinion on the rising welterweights in the UFC. Moreover, he gave his honest opinion on Khamzat Chimaev in the latest interview.

‘Gamebred’ was vocal about criticizing his fellow welterweight. The UFC BMF champ picked his winner from the rising welterweights if they were to go head-to-head in the octagon. Masvidal didn’t have a tough time picking his winner despite both fighters being undefeated.

The UFC welterweight was impressed with the performance of ‘Nomad’ against Geoff Neal. Speaking about the rising welterweight, Masvidal added, “I really like this guy Shavkat… Speed, explosion, tough as hell, great timing, great f*cking power, you know. So for Shavkat to come in and do what he did like that just like ‘all right I’m having trouble taking you down let’s just stand up the whole time.’… He put on a hell of a pace man. He’s impressive man.”

The Miami-based fighter also said, “I think he breaks Chimaev, bro. I’m not too much of a believer in Chimaev…”

Criticizing ‘Borz’ he added, “He’s big for the weight class and could wrestle well, but if you get a guy like that they can wrestle back into him and has hands. I think Chimaev will know and he gonna have to prove me wrong. I don’t see it in that dude, bro. I’m good at sniffing out the hype and I would say hype-master bro…”

‘Gamebred’ also spoke highly of the Kazakh fighter in the interview.

Shavkat Rakhmonov impressed Masvidal

Furthermore, the Miami-based fighter added that Shavkat Rakhmonov has incredible conditioning and his future looks bright in the UFC. Looks like ‘The Nomad’ has gained Masvidal‘s respect with his last fight. Moreover, the two could also face each other if Masvidal gets on winning ways against Gilbert Burns at UFC 288.
