“I’m on the Fighter’s Side” – Pay & Sponsorship Debate Triggered Joe Rogan to Make a ‘Negative Press’ Comment on the UFC

UFC Commentator and renowned podcast host Joe Rogan has always stood up for the fighters. Rogan has taken the side of the fighters as they started complaining about the Reebok Deal. This deal was implemented by the UFC in 2014.

According to Rogan, he feels that the UFC should consider the fighter’s point of view and not just throw it away. Even though Joe Rogan has worked with UFC for more than two decades, he always presents the sports from the fighter and fans’ perspectives.

During his podcast with powerlifters Chris and Mark Bell, Rogan talked about the Pay issue. Joe Rogan never really shies away from his opinions. Even though his opinion sometimes lands him in trouble, he still stands by his honest views. The JRE host said that the fighters are losing much of their money.

“They have some points. I’m on the fighters’ side when it comes to that,” Rogan said while referring to complaints made by the fighters regarding the number of sponsor payments. “They lose too much money.”

Joe Rogan Talks About the Reebok Brand

Joe Rogan feels that the UFC is ignoring the fighters and not addressing their queries. He feels that the fighters should be the top priority. Though he also clarified that the issue should be looked at from a business point of view.

He also talked about the instance where a fighter made more money in sponsorships in another promotion than the entire UFC card made for the event.

The renowned host also considered the brand’s name. He feels that if Reebok doesn’t improve their deal, then it might affect their name.

“I don’t think it’s a good deal for Reebok because I think it gives them a bad name, in some ways. All of these people are complaining about it, like Tim Kennedy complains, Stitch Duran complains gets fired. Lots of fighters are complaining. Brendan Schaub complained, all these different guys complained. That’s all negative press towards their brand,” Joe Rogan said.

The Repetitive Fighters’ Pay Issue

Even today, the UFC fighter’s community keeps on raising their voice against the fighter’s pay scale. Many UFC fighters like Jon Jones, Francis Ngannou, and Paulo Costa have taken shots at the UFC.
