It has now become a trend for MMA fighters to transition to boxing after retiring from MMA. Or doing a crossover in boxing amidst their MMA career. Many notable names, including the former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor, have competed inside the boxing ring.

Interestingly, now the former UFC featherweight fighter and current Bellator champion Cris Cyborg also wants to be added to the list. Recently, a Brazilian internet celebrity, Whindersson Nunes, competed against Brazilian boxing legend Acelino Popo Freitas in a boxing match.

Right after the fight, Whindersson called out the American YouTuber turned boxer Logan Paul for a boxing match. To which the latter quickly responded and accepted the call-out. Meanwhile, Cyborg also expressed her interest in competing inside the boxing ring amidst their tweet.

Cyborg parted ways with the UFC after her last win at UFC 240 in 2019. Later, she made her debut in Bellator in 2020 and also became the women’s featherweight champion.

She currently has three title defenses under her name and is fresh from her recent win against Sinead Kavanagh at Bellator 271. Interestingly, Cyborg will soon return to action to defend her title against an ex-UFC fighter.

Interestingly, it seems like her wish will soon be fulfilled by the former UFC champion. In one of her tweets, Cyborg agreed to fight Zingano and also gave a date for the bout.

However, it won’t be a walk in the park for ‘Alpha’ to face Cyborg, as the latter has only lost two bouts in her professional MMA career.
