UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling has faced his fair share of criticism from the MMA world ever since he won the belt. The reason for this is that Sterling became the first UFC champion to win the belt via disqualification. Former champion Petr Yan landed a devastating knee to a downed opponent and Sterling wasn’t able to continue.

As Dana White wrapped the belt around Sterling’s waist, The Longo-Serra fighter discarded the belt, making it clear that he wasn’t happy with the way he won. However, not long after, Sterling was seen celebrating backstage with his family and team. Such incidents have led nearly the entire MMA fanbase to turn of Sterling, and they want to see him defend his spot.

Aljamain Sterling goes back and forth with a fan

One particular fan who wasn’t too thrilled with Sterling took to Twitter to trash him. Chiefly, the fan reminded him of the reasons why the MMA community had turned on him. He also trashed Sterling for his recent comments that Petr Yan was utilizing PED’s and evading USADA.

Sterling has never been one to take slander laying down, and he clapped back at the fan who was trashing him. ‘The Funkmaster’ said that despite his PED accusations against Yan, he would still be squaring off against him inside the octagon. Their rematch will be one of the most anticipated clashes of the upcoming year.
