Brandon Moreno has one of the most inspiring stories in the UFC. The Mexican fighter proved everyone wrong and has achieved his dreams of being a champion. His victory against Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 263 earned him the UFC flyweight championship title. Moreno is the first Mexican-born UFC champion in the promotion.

Before his rise to the top, Brandon had a rocky start to his journey. He was an underdog for quite some time and after suffering consecutive losses, he got cut from the UFC. He then went to LFA and won the Flyweight belt, which led to his re-entry into the UFC. Ever since then, Moreno has been unstoppable and hasn’t lost even once.

As of November 2021, Moreno’s professional fighting record stands at nineteen wins and five losses. In a recent interview with MMA reporter Ariel Helwani on MMAFighting on SBN, Brandon said he feels he should be headlining UFC 270 next year.

Francis Ngannou and Cyril Gane will headline the event on January 22, 2022. UFC will host the card at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

In the interview, Moreno said he loves Ngannou, but he feels he should be on the main event. He said, “I believe I’m the real main event. It’s my people. I mean if I’m in Africa or I’m in Paris, I understand. But man, Anaheim, thousand a thousand of Mexicans.”

“I don’t want to say too much. But I really believe I’m the real main event,” he added.
