Oliveira recently defended his title at UFC 269 against one of the biggest names in the sport, Dustin Poirier. With this victory, ‘Do Bronx’ has cemented his name as one of the greatest to ever do it and is now looking to fight the biggest MMA star.

Charles Oliveira wants a fight with Conor McGregor. In a recent interview with Sherdog, he said, “May would be a wonderful date. Conor challenged me asking a date, and tweeted Ireland vs. Brazil 2. Not only him but also myself and all the world wants to see that fight. So, let’s make it happen. I’m waiting for him in May. It may be in welterweight, lightweight, or middleweight, with my title on the line or not. Just choose and I’ll be ready.”

Justin Gaethje, according to almost everyone, is the rightful number 1 contender. ‘The Highlight’ put on a show in his last performance against Michael Chandler and is a former interim lightweight champion. He was present backstage at UFC 269 and even congratulated the champion on defending his title.

Oliveira, in the interview with Sherdog, talked about the possibility of Gaethje being his next opponent. He said, “Gaethje was knocked out by Poirier, who I just submitted. He was almost knocked out by Chandler, who I beat via TKO, but I’m a UFC employee. If they choose that I should fight Gaethje next, I’ll be ready too.”
