UFC’s ‘Suga’ is back with another puzzling question. What happens if UFC President Dana White resigns, or retires from the promotion? Well, although this may be an intriguing question, there aren’t too many viable answers to choose from.
Ever since the conception and foundation of the UFC, back in 1993, it has undergone many changes. Many label White as the savior of the promotion. Why? Well, allegedly, he saved the UFC from collapsing into bankruptcy – by helping his friend Lorenzo Fertitta acquire it for $2 million. But then the same question arises: what happens when Dana White is gone? Let’s hear what Sean O’Malley has to say.

Sean O’Malley reveals a startling clause in Joe Rogan’s contract with the UFC
In a recent podcast on his YouTube channel, ‘Suga’ kicks off the interview by disclosing updates for his fight camp. However, as the discussion reached its peak, the bantamweight pulled up an intriguing topic. He started off,
“Joe Rogan’s contract says – if Dana White leaves, Joe leaves. I’ve heard him say that quite a bit of times…”
And he’s not wrong. Over the years, Rogan has publicly expressed his desire to stay with the promotion only if White’s still there. Therefore, it shouldn’t be a surprise to fans that if one sunny day, Dana White exits the promotion, Joe Rogan will definitely follow suit.
The intrigue deepens as O’Malley draws a striking parallel between Dana White and another well-known personality in the MMA community – Chael Sonnen. Moreover, the undefeated Bantamweight drew a jaw-dropping parallel, adding, “…imagine Chael – Chael takes over the UFC. He’s kind of like a similar guy to Dana.”
‘Suga’ Sean draws an NFL comparison to the UFC
But wait – this ironic comparison is just the tip of the iceberg. He quickly highlights the potential risks that could arise if someone else were to step in and treat the promotion like the NFL.
Adding to his views, ‘Suga’ remarked, “Imagine Dana leaving and somebody coming in and treating it like the NFL and it’s like – you just get censored so much and it’s just – fighting’s too rough. Fighting’s too f**king gangster dude! You don’t need that sh*t…”

In O’Malley’s view, an approach similar to that of the National Football League, where strict censorship and regulations are prevalent, would be ill-suited for the raw and intense nature of combat sports. The authenticity and “gangster” appeal of fighting would be lost, detracting from the essence of what makes the UFC unique.
‘Suga’ has been making waves with his podcasts and intriguing opinions. Recently, he has raised many eyebrows after his bold prediction for fellow Welterweight Khamzat Chimaev’s upcoming fight against Middleweight Paulo Costa at UFC 294.
