Sharaputdin Magomedov was one of the most hyped-up fighters right until fans witnessed his victory against Bruno Silva. At UFC 294 on October 21st, Magomedov debuted with a win that fans still consider either underwhelming or controversial. Now, he’s set to return to the cage.

And in no ordinary fashion either, ‘Shara-Bullet’ will now be headlining the main event of UFC Fight Night. This time, it will go down in Saudi Arabia on 2nd March 2024. Nevertheless, will he take a grand win this time around? Or does another hard-fought battle await?

What happened when Sharaputdin Magomedov debuted?

The matchup went in directions that may have been unexpected. Why? Because Sharaputdin Magomedov is from Dagestan, a place known for its wrestlers. However, ‘Shara-Bullet’ is a fighter who relies heavily on his striking instead and this was visible as the rounds went on.

His KO/TKO rate was 91% right before his Silva fight. In fact, he’d won most of his battles by knocking his opponents out. This did not work with Silva who also had a fairly reasonable knockout rate of 87%. The fight went on for all three rounds leading to a unanimous decision win.

For the first round, we saw some interesting combos and blows being exchanged. Regardless, after taking some shots in the second round, Silva took Magomedov down and the fight continued on the mat. The same could be said about the third round. All in all, the wrestling and grappling skills that fans expected from ‘Shara-Bullet’ were not there.

Now, he’s about to come back for more. Will he be more prepared this time around? The UFC tries to put up fights that are as entertaining as possible. And fans are rarely polite when they’re not being entertained correctly. Here are some fan reactions to the news.

Sources say Magomedov will be the center of attention for the Saudi Arabia event. While some fans don’t want him to headline at all, others already have a great opponent in mind for him to put him to the test. Here are some of the best reactions from Instagram.

While some pitted him against Marvin Vettori, other UFC fighters showed up for themselves.

“Call me. I’m still waiting for you.” wrote Brunno Ferreira.

“What??? lol” said bantamweight prospect Caolan Loughran.

Yet others still despised his decision to debut win.

“#1 bullshit Bruno silva shoulda won”

Many could not believe it or could not wait.

“Headline? Are you fr??”

The fans were clearly not ready for this one. Perhaps it’s because the fighter has only fought once in his UFC career. Is it too soon to see him fight in the main event? Maybe it’s fair to give the warrior a significant chance at fame after securing his first win. While some may disagree, ‘Shara-Bullet’ is still an exciting fighter.
