Dana White is still not letting go of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s UFC return. The UFC President presented a scenario where he could see ‘The Eagle’ return against his arch-nemesis. His recent conversation on ‘The Spinnin Backfist’ podcast suggested Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov might square off against each other after all.
It appears the UFC President is ready to look into Ferguson’s idea of doing The Ultimate Fighter show with him and his longtime rival (‘The Eagle‘).

One of the most highly touted bouts of the last decade—Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson—got a new light when the latter proposed an idea to the former to fulfill his father’s wish. ‘The Eagle’ jumped on the idea and wanted a ‘call‘ from the UFC President.
Now, it appears Mr. White will put in the effort to make this a reality. While on Barstool’s podcast, the UFC President, who was initially reluctant, discussed the potential of entertaining the idea. He said, “So you’re telling me, you guys as fans, media, whatever it might be like the idea of two guys possibly coaching that wouldn’t fight each other?”
When the host reminded the UFC President about the Conor McGregor and Urijah Faber coaching TUF 22 (Team USA vs Team Europe) without competing against each other, he said, “I’ll consider; Congratulations.”

Thereafter, Mr. White cheekily added, “Hopefully, they’ll get p*ssed off enough at each other that they actually want to fight, and I can make the fight.”
“I’m in; You sold me,” White concluded his thoughts.
Both Ferguson and Nurmagomedov are still fan favorites and get a lot of attention where ever they go. The passionate MMA fans still want to see these two athletes, who reigned the lightweight division in the same era, to compete against each other.
Dana White did everything to book Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson
It’s not often that the UFC President couldn’t make a fight that the fans demanded, as they did with ‘The Eagle’ and ‘El Cucuy’. And to top the fans’ demand, the bout made sense ranking-wise as well.

For the better part of the last decade, the bout was always there to book. To the UFC’s credit, they booked it five times. Unfortunately, it fell apart every single time. UFC 249 was the fifth and the last time their bout got canceled.
However, ‘El Cucuy’ elected to compete at the PPV, and Justin Gaethje snapped his winning streak to deny the UFC an opportunity to book it for the sixth time.
