Conor McGregor has successfully overcome the final obstacle on his path to a UFC comeback. According to a recent statement issued by McGregor himself, the UFC two-division champion will be re-entering the UFC testing pool. At the beginning of 2023, UFC President Dana White confirmed McGregor’s anticipated return to the octagon. He revealed that ‘The Notorious’ would participate in the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter alongside former three-time Bellator Lightweight Champion Michael Chandler. Meanwhile, McGregor expected special treatment from USADA. However, they asked him to adhere to the standard procedures like any other fighter. This brought about a conflict between the two parties. As it continued, doubts began to arise among fans and professionals regarding the McGregor vs. Chandler matchup.

Chael Sonnen lashes out at “Selective testing”

Retired UFC star Chael Sonnen was talking to the UFC fighter turned YouTuber Brendan Schaub in ‘The Schaub Show’. During the conversation, Sonnen decided to speak against “selective testing”. He said, “Conor McGregor, with rumors is in your state right now doing The Ultimate Fighter. I mean Keith Kaiser tested this and made it very clear you have the right to test an athlete. Now once he’s licensed, you have the right to test an athlete once a fight is announced, and they announced Conor McGregor versus Chandler. We’ve got all these rumors that McGregor was there in Nevada.

He further added, “They can’t leave the state line but they can test them anytime they want it and they didn’t, but that’s just a dangerous game. You would not come there… I mean it was a really weird thing and they should have gone in and tested him, either cleared the rumors and cleared Conor’s name or go the other way but they should have test him. They chose not to test him. That’s selective testing. That’s a problem for me.Like many other fighters, even Sonnen believes that ‘The Notorious’ is getting a lot of privileges.

Some happy news for fans!

Nearly a week ago, Conor McGregor officially announced that the ongoing issue with USADA had been successfully resolved. The Irish fighter made this announcement during a media event held at his establishment, ‘The Black Forge Inn,’ where he was joined by boxing promoter Eddie Hearn.
